Terenzio Zandri of Rome Italy makes premium quality silk double taper lines in a wide variety of sizes. See: Silk Lines

January 2, 2010     Surprise: the Raised Pillar Reels are Back -
A faster and more accurate method has been found to make the very time consuming raised pillar frames. Also, thick plate nickel silver is once again available here in North America. Last June I assigned the last of my stock of this material to the last two orders of Perfectionist reels, but restock is not possible so that the Perfectionist and the original design of the Brook Trout (had been made with bronze frames) reels can be ordered now.

Somerset Report - Friday was a bright partly sunny day; the "swarm" of people was both challenging and uplifting after a long - long winter. Bob Selb, Jeff Wagner and Jonas Price all had a great time with some very high quality cane changing hands. Noted tier Tom Baltz commented that he was surprised at the interest in fly patterns as they were being scarfed up by so many onlookers.

NCC Trout Unlimited, Maryland, Saturday, March 13 Report - not a good day to drive across Maryland - its always been said that Marylander's don't know how to drive. People were interested in buying framed flies and art, and other better quality items, but mostly enjoyed the conversations about fishing, the weather, and past horrible snow storms. The weather has been a factor in the South with big problems at both Middleburg Va. for the TU Show and the Fly Show at Charlotte which was iced-out the 4th of January. Better luck next year!
