Technically, the reels have strong reel frames, large spool capacity, self lubricating bearings, adjustable and exceptionally smooth drag systems, and simple - single screw take down. CLASSIC TROUT REELS The first classic style reels worked out over a five year period in the mid 1990's. Originally losely based on nineteenth century Vom Hofe reel designs, the frame and internal mechanism are made of modern materials, but maintain the flavor, feel and function of the vintage reels.
