Godfrey Classic Reels are made in the tradition of precision, handmade reels made with nickel silver, bronze and aluminum. These reels capture the essential elements of the elegant classic single action reel design with a focus on fine detail and finish as well as function. Now in production for Seven years, the Classics have become the most popular Godfrey reel. The tough, heavy duty Classic Reels provide extra strength and power for fishing large rivers from Iceland to Alaska. The pawl and spring mechanism are heavy stainless steel, and the reel frame bands are made of heavy guage nickel silver. At first glance "just a click reel", but the Classic is an unusually tough machine which belies its very elegant package! |

MODELS AND SPECIFICATIONS

Two and Three Weight Reels - These two reels are constructed lighter than the rest of the Classic reels to better balance seven foot cane rods. Chose the 253 for silk lines and the 253D for all lines because it is a little wider to better accommodate double taper plastic type lines. Four Weight Reels - Models 274L and 274 are simply two different frame widths. The 274L is a nice narrow classic looking reel. The 274 is definitely the most popular Classic Reel Model! Five Weight Reels - Model 275 is the standard reel to hold either a weight forward with plenty backing or a double taper type line. The "W" model is especially designed for those who want a 2 3/4 inch diameter reel that can also hold a 6 weight line. The 306 - Six Weight Reels - By some standards these are still a fairly light reels especially for any 8 foot cane or 9 foot graphite rods. The 306 is the "standard" work horse six weight reel while the 306D should be considered if extra backing is wanted. |
